Image Picker for Ecommerce is a local-first browser tool. Product-page information is processed on your device and is not collected by the developer.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Image Picker for Ecommerce (the “Extension”) uses information when you install and use it. The Extension has one purpose: to identify product images on the ecommerce page you choose to scan, let you review and select useful images, and download the selected images as an organized batch.

The Extension works locally in your browser. The developer does not operate a backend service for the Extension and does not collect, receive, or retain your product-page data.

Data the Extension Uses

When you open the side panel or request a rescan, the Extension may process the following information from the active page:

  • The active tab's URL and page title.
  • Image URLs, alternative text, dimensions, source sets, lazy-loading attributes, CSS background-image references, and relevant product-image metadata embedded in the page.
  • Your image selections and the filenames needed to complete a download.

This information is used only to identify, classify, preview, and download product images. It is processed locally and is not transmitted to the developer.

Local Storage

The Extension uses chrome.storage.local to save these preferences on your device:

  • Download subfolder name.
  • Filename format.
  • Duplicate-file handling preference.
  • Manually selected interface language.

Scan results are kept only in the Extension's temporary in-memory state and are not saved as a browsing history. The Extension does not use cookies, analytics identifiers, or cloud synchronization.

This privacy page may save only your language selection in the page's local storage.

Permissions

The Extension requests only the permissions needed for its image-selection and download workflow.

tabsIdentifies the active tab, reads its URL and title, sends the scan request, and verifies that results still belong to the current page.
sidePanelDisplays image results, filters, settings, and download controls beside the current page.
storageSaves the local preferences listed above.

The Extension does not use the history, cookies, identity, webRequest, or scripting permissions.

External Requests and Third-Party Websites

The Extension does not send information to a developer-operated server. Image previews and user-requested downloads are loaded directly from the website or image host that supplied the image URL. Those third-party servers may receive an ordinary browser request and are governed by their own privacy policies.

The Extension does not load or execute remote code. All executable logic is included in the published extension package.

This privacy page contains no analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising scripts. The static hosting provider you choose may process ordinary web-server request logs under its own privacy terms.

Data Collection, Sharing, and Sale

The developer does not collect Extension user data. The Extension does not:

  • Require an account or collect names, email addresses, payment details, or authentication information.
  • Use analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or behavioral profiling.
  • Sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties.
  • Use data for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to its single purpose.
  • Allow the developer or other people to read your page data.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local preferences remain in Chrome's extension storage until you change them, clear the Extension's stored data, or uninstall the Extension. Temporary scan results disappear when the side panel context is closed, reloaded, or replaced by a new scan. Downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them using your operating system or browser download controls.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The Extension's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information accessed through Chrome APIs is used only to provide or improve the Extension's disclosed product-image scanning, selection, and download functionality.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other users through the Extension.

Changes to This Policy

If the Extension's data practices or permissions change, this policy will be updated before or when the relevant Extension update is released. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version of the policy.
